Made in Walden is a Community Interest Company, so what is happening in and around our local community of Saffron Walden is really important to us. We care for the environment, we care about you!
Last year we helped to host our own Macmillan coffee morning supported by www.slowbakes.com who make brownies to help people who need to gain or stabilise weight because of illness, treatment or lifestyle choices. Their brownies are surprisingly not sweet, but are packed full of energy to help people get through the day with more energy. In honour of one of their customers, Trevor, who sadly lost his cancer battle recently, they are baking a special batch of ‘Trevor’ brownies donate to local coffee mornings on or about 28th September.
This year we are helping to deliver ‘Trevor’ versions of Slowbakes and will visit as many coffee mornings as possible with a vehicle decked with our eco coloured jute bunting! If you see our vehicle please hoot to support us. If you are planning your own event, it is not too late to order bunting for events and parties you are planning. (Personally we were rather disappointed to find that M&S supporting Macmillan coffee mornings provided plastic bunting. Yes plastic is cheaper, but harmful to the environment and that’s a cost that here at Made in Walden we think is too expensive for us all – a legacy that none of us can afford!) On 26th September during our workshop at Fairycroft 2-4pm we will be making bunting for their coffee shop and entrance, adding messages on flags and finishing our cute animal bags – Lions, bears, tigers and piglets. Grrrrreat fun!
Please do buy our discounted eco bunting and add your own decoration wherever you are. Big smile ‘Trevor’ faces might be favourite to celebrate helping people achieve no matter what their circumstances and all that’s good about Made in Walden.
